We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites linked to our Services. Review their policies before sharing information.
6. Affiliate Links and Third-Party Tracking
RWT News participates in affiliate marketing programs. Some links on our site — including those to products and services we recommend or advertise — are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you make a purchase after clicking through at no additional cost to you. Affiliate links are labeled “Sponsored” where they appear on our site.
When you click an affiliate link, you are navigated to a third-party website. That third-party site, and its affiliated advertising network, may set tracking cookies on your browser to attribute your visit or purchase to our referral. This cookie-based tracking is governed entirely by the third party's own privacy policy — we do not set these cookies, nor do we receive any personal information collected by the affiliate partner beyond aggregate commission reporting. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit through an affiliate link.
7. Affiliated Ecommerce Store
RWT News is affiliated with Red, White and True Gear (redwhiteandtruegear.com), an ecommerce store operated under the same company ownership as RWT News LLC. Links to the store may appear prominently on our site.
Red, White and True Gear is a separate website with its own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. When you navigate from rwtnews.com to redwhiteandtruegear.com, you are entering a distinct web property. The store collects additional categories of personal information that this site does not, including shipping addresses, billing information, and order history, all of which are governed by the store's own privacy policy. We encourage you to review Red, White and True Gear's Privacy Policy before making a purchase.
8. Do We Use Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies?
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service that does not use cookies and does not collect personally identifiable information. Plausible collects aggregate, anonymous data about page views and traffic sources in compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR. No opt-out is required as no personal data is collected. We set one first-party cookie (rwt_yt_consent) to remember your consent to YouTube API Terms of Service when you choose to watch embedded videos. This cookie contains only a boolean value, stores no personal data, and expires after one year. We may also use cookies from embedded third-party services such as YouTube, Rumble, and other video platforms. You can manage cookie preferences via your browser settings. You may also opt out of Google Analytics tracking at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
9. How Do We Handle Your Social Logins?
If you log in via social media, we may receive profile information (e.g., name, email). We use this only as described in this Privacy Notice. Review your social media provider's privacy policies.
10. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?
We retain your information only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined, unless required by law. Data is deleted or anonymized when no longer needed.
11. How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no system is 100% secure. Access our Services in a secure environment.
12. Do We Collect Information from Minors?
We do not knowingly collect data from children under 18. If we learn such data was collected, we will delete it promptly.
13. What Are Your Privacy Rights?
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

- Request correction or deletion
- Restrict or object to processing
- Request data portability
- Opt out of automated decision-making
Contact us by visiting our Contact Page to exercise these rights.
14. Controls for Do-Not-Track Features
We do not currently respond to Do-Not-Track signals, as no uniform standard exists. We will update this Privacy Notice if a standard is adopted.
15. Third-Party Video Services
Our website embeds video content from third-party platforms including YouTube, Rumble, and potentially others. Each of these platforms operates under their own privacy policy and may collect data independently when their player loads or a video is played.
YouTube: We use YouTube API Services and the privacy-enhanced YouTube player (youtube-nocookie.com) to reduce cookie activity until you interact with a video. By interacting with YouTube video features, you are also subject to the Google Privacy Policy. YouTube may collect information such as your IP address, device data, and viewing habits. We do not receive or process this information ourselves.
Rumble: Videos embedded from Rumble load within an iframe hosted by Rumble's servers. Rumble may set cookies or collect device and usage data when the player loads. This data collection is governed by the Rumble Privacy Policy. We do not receive or process information collected by Rumble.
What Information We Collect: We do not directly collect any personal information from you related to your video viewing activity. Any data collection from embedded video players is handled entirely by the respective third-party platform under their own policies.
Third-Party Advertisements in Video Players: Embedded video players may display advertisements served by the respective platform or their advertising partners. These parties may also set cookies or collect data in accordance with their own policies.
Revoking Google Data Access: Our current implementation does not use Authorized Data (data requiring user login/OAuth) from YouTube. If you have previously granted third-party applications access to your Google account data, you can revoke that access at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions.
Contact for Privacy Concerns: If you have questions about our video embedding practices, please contact us by visiting our Contact Page.
16. Contributor and Team Applications
If you submit an application to join our team through the Join the Team page, we collect the information you voluntarily provide in that form, which may include your name, email address, the role you are applying for, and any details about yourself you choose to share. This information is used solely for the purpose of evaluating your application and communicating with you about it. We do not sell or share application data with third parties. Application data is retained for as long as necessary to evaluate the submission and for a reasonable period thereafter. You may request deletion of your application data at any time by contacting us through our Contact Page.
17. Payment Processing and Contributions
If you choose to make a voluntary financial contribution to support RWT News, your payment is processed by one or more third-party payment processors. We may use services including but not limited to Google Payments and Stripe. We do not directly collect, store, or process your payment card or banking information — that data is handled entirely by the applicable payment processor under their own privacy policy and security standards.
When you complete a contribution, the payment processor may share limited transaction-related information with us — such as your name, email address, and contribution amount — for the purposes of issuing receipts, maintaining financial records, and complying with tax obligations. We do not sell or share this information with third parties beyond what is required by law or necessary to fulfill the transaction.
We encourage you to review the privacy policies of our payment processors:
All contributions are voluntary and do not constitute a purchase of goods or services unless explicitly stated.
18. Browser Local Storage
We use your browser's local storage to remember site preferences and reading interactions — for example, to track whether you have seen certain prompts or to remember your engagement with site features such as article likes. This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or shared with any third party. You can clear local storage at any time through your browser settings.
19. Email Newsletter and Communications
If you subscribe to our email newsletter, we collect your email address and, optionally, your first name for the purpose of sending you periodic updates, news, and personalized communications from RWT News. Providing your first name is entirely optional — only your email address is required to subscribe. Your information is stored and managed through a third-party email service provider. We do not sell or share your email address or name with unaffiliated third parties for marketing purposes. You may unsubscribe from our email list at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link included in every email we send. We comply with the CAN-SPAM Act in all email communications.
