The War of the Suburbs in my words

How government policy, political agendas, and backroom deals are reshaping America. Why would we want to live like Europe; we have a lot of land. Western Europe is about the size of Texas.

The War of the Suburbs in my words

I thought it was time we addressed what is going on all across the country. Have you noticed that city governments are trying to force people into cities, taking what has been a staple of life for generations — the bedroom communities, the suburbs — and trying to destroy them?

I have asked for years why. I started asking that question 20-plus years ago. At first, I thought it was driven by cities wanting to bring people and tax revenue back to failing cities that had been destroyed by Democrat leadership for several generations. And to be fair, there is some truth to that.

But it is much darker than that.

It is about the socialist agenda.

The Planned Destruction of America’s Bedroom Communities

Back when Barack Obama was president, he started the race issue again, and of course part of that included control — not only of city politics and finances, but generations of people trapped by Democrat policies that have destroyed the inner cities. His plan was to turn rural America into the same overcrowded poverty ridden cesspools they have used to control the inner cities for generations. He wanted to turn the suburbs into the same easier to control government dependent model we witness in liberal cities across America.

If Obama could not force people to the cities, he decided to bring the cities to the people in the suburbs. His plan was to destroy the suburbs by importing crime, political control, drugs, and poverty into suburban communities. This would become known as the “Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing” rule, or AFFH.

In 2015, the Obama administration implemented a regulation titled the 2015 AFFH Rule,”. While the term “rent tickets” is not a formal policy name, it became a common way people described housing vouchers — federal subsidies that allowed low-income families to rent in the private market, including the suburbs.

• Private Market Search: Families used these “tickets” to find their own housing in the private market, including apartments or single-family homes.

• Rent Sharing: The family typically paid no more than 30% of their monthly income toward rent, and the federal government paid the rest directly to the landlord.

• Payment Standards: Local Public Housing Agencies set payment standards between 90% and 110% of local Fair Market Rent, determining the maximum monthly subsidy government would pay toward rent and utilities.

Rent Tickets and Brother-in-Law Deals: The New Urban Agenda For The Suburbs

________________________________________

For years, the buddy brother-in-law builders were playing a game — the tax credit game. The downside was since Ronald Reagan the only projects that could be used for these tax credits were historical projects or Section 8 housing.

But of course, when suburban neighborhoods heard Section 8 housing was coming to their block, they went crazy because they understood it would decrease property values, increase crime, and impact schools through overcrowding.

So, any politician dumb enough to push this openly would usually be ousted from office. Property owners did not want huge amounts of non-property owners coming into their areas and being used to pass a political agenda for politicians that would cost property owners money while renters paid nothing. For example, Real estate tax.

That became the check and balance that helped keep suburbs stable for years.

For years, it worked. Then I watched, as the game changed.

Zoning for Control: How Local Politicians Are Selling Out the Suburbs

________________________________________

The Democrats wanted control and they viewed the suburbs as a barrier to their socialist agenda. They had to force feed the suburbs, politicians, builders, developers, and renters that would help them sell this agenda that makes no sense to rational people. Then they went to work on the suburban educational system. They found billionaire doners and corrupt corporations to buy local elections, scoop up land and housing, they controlled what business would be allowed there and had off time elections to move the needle.

In the old days, the buddy brother-in-law builders would go to corrupt politicians with a wink and a nod and tell them they were building luxury apartments or “senior housing.” The projects would breeze through zoning with little citizen reaction. Then, after construction, the same developers would return claiming they could not fill the units, and the city would lose tax revenue unless officials would “just this one time” allow rezoning into Section 8 housing. The same developers did this with the same politicians repeatedly.

In my area, I watched several projects follow this exact pattern. Being familiar with the tax credit programs, I started raising questions. I asked things like:

Just how stupid are our politicians to keep authorizing the same kind of project over and over while getting the same results every single time?

Who would keep approving the same projects when none of the last ones would fill up?

How many times would it take before people understood what was happening?

The answer became obvious: never.

Because it was clear these brother-in-law deals were good for the socialist agenda. This was their plan. Everyone is in on it, but it will cost us all.

Just as many of us were exposing this corruption, Obama came along and finished the deal. He turned what had been a corrupt illegal process into “How things were done”

Now the new game is even easier.

The buddy brother-in-law builders and corrupt politicians no longer have to openly use the old "Section 8 scheme" and lose the high dollar rents. Now they build “luxury apartments,” high-density apartment complexes, and quietly fill them with Section 8 tenants without calling them Section 8 housing.

The builders still get tax breaks.

The politicians get their agenda done.

They all still get the incentives.

But now they also get to keep luxury pricing because taxpayers cover the difference in rent through Obama’s “rent ticket” program.

No limits.

Just about the time I was fighting some of these projects — and even winning a few of them — I remember asking myself:

Dear Lord, who do they think they are going to fill all these places up with?

Then they opened the borders.

And suddenly it all made sense.

Just Like Europe. The Social Engineering of Americas Freedom

________________________________________

I even remember Obama saying in a White House speech that he intended to change the suburbs. And when you hear people talking about wanting America to become more like Europe, remember this: Europe does it because they have no choice. People are stacked on top of each other, because Western Europe is roughly the size of Texas.

We do not have to live like that in this country. If foreign countries, large corporations like Black Rock and Social Engineering would stay out of it. Builders would build what people wanted, families could afford them, populations would grow into the places that did the best job, and everyone would live how they wanted to. The Government would be minimized, cities would still be cities and all would be right with the world. It is called the free market.

We have the land, we have the resources, and we have the freedom. We do not have to live that way. Unless you want to and that is fine, Go do it, it just is you can’t tell the rest of us how to live, because America is not like Europe.

The only reason land and housing are becoming outrageously expensive outside of a few landlocked, democrat run cities, is because of political pressure from cities and counties trying to push people back toward crowded city lifestyle that is easier for government to control.

In our area we have a great highway system, abundant land for parking lots, subdivisions, parks and all kinds of wonderful things. We have reasonable gas prices and frankly we love cars, trucks and SUVs and are accustomed to the freedom to come and go as we please, not to wait for a bus or train in a snowstorm. Like I tell people all the time, if you want to live like that MOVE!

So, when you hear politicians wanting public transit, downtown ball parks, high density living, huge public projects to spend your tax dollars on and Europe is used as the example, what they are really saying is Socialism, just like Europe. That’s right and you are financing it all.

Now are you beginning to understand the “One World Order” crowd?

Now are you beginning to understand why countries like China are buying American land?

Now you are beginning to understand why huge corporations like Black Rock are involved.

It is to price people out of the market and force them back into cities and back into compliance. Free people are just too hard to control.

None of this makes sense unless you start understanding corruption, greed, control, and political agendas.

None of this is to build a stronger America.

None of this is to make America great again.

None of this is about saving tax money or promoting freedom.

All of this is about getting you where they want you, so they can force you to comply
