WASHINGTON — White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt and her husband Nicholas Riccio announced the birth of their second child, a healthy baby girl named Viviana, on May 1, 2026.
Leavitt shared the joyful news on social media, writing: “On May 1st, Viviana aka ‘Vivi’ joined our family, and our hearts instantly exploded with love.” She added, “She is perfect and healthy, and her big brother is joyfully adjusting to life with his new baby sister. We are enjoying every moment in our blissful newborn bubble.”
The couple already has a son, Nicholas Robert Riccio, who will turn two in July.
Leavitt, 28, continued performing her duties as the youngest White House Press Secretary in modern history until just days before giving birth. Her last regular press gaggle was on April 24, when she told reporters she was “about ready to have a baby any minute.” She briefly returned to the podium on April 27 following the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump extended congratulations to the couple on the new arrival.
