Trump Warns Iran Time Is Running Out as Sen. Lindsey Graham Calls for Renewed Strikes
Trump’s comments came amid stalled indirect talks facilitated by Pakistan and repeated Iranian violations of the fragile ceasefire.

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump issued a fresh warning to Iran on Sunday that time is running out to accept a comprehensive peace deal and fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz, while Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., urged the president to resume military action if Tehran remains provocative.
Trump’s comments came amid stalled indirect talks facilitated by Pakistan and repeated Iranian violations of the fragile ceasefire. The president has repeatedly stated that any final agreement must include verifiable limits on Iran’s nuclear program, an end to support for regional proxies, and unrestricted commercial shipping through the critical waterway.
Graham, appearing on multiple outlets Sunday, called on Trump to “finish the job” against the Iranian regime. He advocated maintaining the U.S. naval blockade, threatening Iran’s main oil export hub at Kharg Island, and taking whatever steps are necessary to restore full oil flow through the Strait of Hormuz.
“What President Trump has done has been amazing militarily, but there’s more targets to be had,” Graham said. He emphasized that the combination of the blockade and credible military pressure remains the best way to force Iran to the table or weaken the regime further.
The senator’s remarks reflect growing frustration among some Republicans with the pace of negotiations. The fragile ceasefire, brokered in early April, has been repeatedly tested by Iranian drone and missile activity, while the U.S. blockade continues to severely restrict Iranian oil exports.
Trump has maintained that the blockade will stay in place until a comprehensive deal is reached. He previously rejected an Iranian counterproposal as “totally unacceptable” and has warned of overwhelming force if diplomacy fails.
No new military strikes have been announced, but Graham’s public pressure and Trump’s latest comments signal that the administration is keeping all options on the table as indirect talks continue. Oil prices remained elevated Sunday amid the uncertainty.
The developments come as the Trump administration balances diplomatic efforts with maximum economic pressure on Tehran.
