Trump Slams Tucker Carlson as “Low IQ” Over Criticism of Iran Policy
In remarks to reporters and on social media, Trump dismissed Carlson’s recent comments warning that U.S. actions and rhetoric toward Iran could lead to escalation or even nuclear war.

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump sharply criticized conservative commentator Tucker Carlson on Tuesday, calling him a “low IQ person” and a “fool” after Carlson publicly questioned the administration’s handling of the Iran conflict.
In remarks to reporters and on social media, Trump dismissed Carlson’s recent comments warning that U.S. actions and rhetoric toward Iran could lead to escalation or even nuclear war. Trump stated Carlson “has absolutely no idea what’s going on” and accused him of spreading misinformation at a critical time.
The rebuke came after Carlson, once a strong Trump ally, used his podcast and social media to criticize the president’s approach. Carlson described some of Trump’s statements about striking Iranian infrastructure as “vile” and suggested the administration was moving too aggressively. He also urged officials to resist any orders he viewed as crossing moral lines.
Trump has taken a hard-line stance on Iran, issuing a firm deadline for Tehran to accept a U.S. peace proposal that includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz and verifiable limits on its nuclear program. The president has repeatedly stated that Iran has been “essentially decimated” and that strong deterrence is necessary to protect U.S. interests and global shipping lanes.
The public clash highlights growing tensions within conservative circles over the six-week-old conflict. While many Trump supporters back the administration’s aggressive posture, Carlson and a smaller group of America First voices have expressed concerns about the scope and potential long-term costs of the campaign.
Trump’s pointed response underscores his unwillingness to tolerate criticism from former allies on what he views as a core national security issue. No immediate response from Carlson was reported following the president’s remarks.
The exchange comes as indirect negotiations, mediated by Pakistan, continue and as the administration maintains heightened military readiness in the region.
