In a Truth Social post, Trump stated the successor must "care about the people of Iran" and avoid wasting resources on "terror around the world" or nuclear weapons. He suggested a leader focused on improving Iran's economy and global standing, potentially from within the regime or military, rather than exiled figures like Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, whom he deemed lacking popularity. Trump reiterated his goal of eliminating threats without regime change, but noted openness to supporting internal groups if needed.
