Trump Issues Hardline Tuesday Deadline to Iran: “There Is NO TURNING BACK”
In direct comments today, Trump left no room for negotiation on the timeline. "They have till 8:00 tomorrow night".

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump has made clear that Tuesday, April 7, 2026, is a firm deadline for Iran to accept a comprehensive U.S.-backed peace deal, warning that failure to comply will trigger severe consequences.
In direct comments today, Trump left no room for negotiation on the timeline. "They have till 8:00 tomorrow night". "This is a critical period," he added, "We're going to find out."
Trump also reiterated that Iran has already been significantly weakened. “Iran has been, essentially, decimated,” he stated. “The hard part is done.”
The 48-hour ultimatum, first issued through intermediaries on April 4, demands verifiable limits on Iran’s nuclear program, curbs on ballistic missiles, an end to proxy support, and the immediate reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
The deadline comes six weeks into the conflict that began with U.S. and Israeli strikes on February 28, 2026. Iran has continued disrupting shipping in the strait despite heavy losses in leadership and military capability.
Trump has repeatedly stressed that the United States will no longer act as the world’s sole protector of global shipping lanes. “The U.S.A. won’t be there to help you anymore, just like you weren’t there for us,” he told allies facing fuel shortages.
The Pentagon maintains heightened readiness in the region, with additional naval and air assets positioned for potential follow-on strikes on Iranian oil infrastructure and other targets if the deadline passes without compliance.
No immediate response from Iranian leadership has been reported as the Tuesday deadline approaches. The administration continues indirect talks but has signaled the window for diplomacy is closing fast.
