Trump Delivers Fiery Rebuke to Globalist Migration Policies in UN Address

President Donald Trump confronted world leaders at the 80th United Nations General Assembly on September 23, delivering a direct challenge to the globalist migration agenda during his first address of his second term. Speaking to representatives from 193 nations, including allies and adversaries, Trump declared the policies "inherently evil" for enabling the mass trafficking of children.
"Any system that results in the mass trafficking of children is inherently evil—yet that is exactly what the globalist migration agenda has done," Trump stated, accusing the UN of funding an assault on national sovereignty through open borders. He urged nations to close borders, expel illegal migrants, and reject what he called a "failed experiment" that has ruined economies and cultures worldwide, particularly in Europe.
Trump tied the critique to U.S. border security, noting his administration's recovery of 28,000 children out of 300,000 unaccompanied minors whose locations were lost under the prior administration. Border Czar Tom Homan announced in August that the Trump team located these children, many placed with unvetted sponsors by NGOs funded with $6 billion from the Department of Homeland Security and Health and Human Services. Investigative reporting confirmed fake addresses were used for 300,000 children, with post-placement checks limited to two unanswered calls, leading to 65,000 unresolved cases from August 2023 to January 2025.
The speech also dismissed climate change as a "con job" and ridiculed renewable energy, while praising U.S. actions against drug cartels and human smugglers. Trump highlighted his record of ending wars and promoting sovereignty, rejecting UN inaction on terrorism and biological threats.
The address faced technical disruptions that raised questions of sabotage. An escalator halted abruptly as President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump boarded it en route to the podium, forcing them to walk the remainder. The teleprompter failed at the start, prompting Trump to read from paper and quip, "Whoever's operating this teleprompter is in big trouble." The White House called for an investigation, citing reports of UN staff joking about pranks like disabling escalators to make Trump climb stairs. If intended to embarrass the president, the incidents backfired, drawing attention to UN infrastructure woes amid a liquidity crisis.
Trump incorporated the mishaps into his remarks, stating, "These are the two things I got from the United Nations: a bad escalator and a bad teleprompter," which elicited laughs and underscored his portrayal of the body as dysfunctional. UN General Assembly President Annalena Baerbock later quipped that the teleprompters "are working perfectly," highlighting tensions.
