President Donald Trump cast his midterm ballot early in person on Saturday at the Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections office in West Palm Beach, Florida, alongside First Lady Melania Trump.
Wearing an “I Voted” sticker, Trump told reporters he voted “very much so” along party lines for Republican candidates. In Florida he has endorsed Rep. Byron Donalds for governor and Sen. Ashley Moody in the special election to fill the remainder of Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s former term. After voting he continued to a rally in Georgia as part of a final-week campaigning schedule that also includes Michigan.
Trump has previously criticized mail-in and early voting, arguing those methods are vulnerable to fraud. In recent weeks he has reversed course and urged Republican voters to use every appropriate tool, including early voting, to maximize turnout. He and the first lady arrived after the president spent the morning at a nearby golf course. Melania Trump declined to say whether she would travel to Ukraine, stating only that “we will see.”
The early vote occurred with roughly ten days remaining before the Nov. 3 midterms. Early-voting totals are elevated in several battleground states. Trump has continued to emphasize election integrity while encouraging his supporters to participate.
