Trump Announces 10-Day Ceasefire Between Israel and Lebanon

The announcement follows direct talks between Israeli and Lebanese representatives in Washington on Tuesday — the first such face-to-face meeting in 34 years — hosted by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump announced Thursday that Israel and Lebanon have agreed to a 10-day ceasefire beginning at 5:00 p.m. EST.

In a Truth Social post, Trump stated he held “excellent conversations” with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. “These two Leaders have agreed that in order to achieve PEACE between their Countries, they will formally begin a 10 Day CEASEFIRE at 5 P.M. EST,” he wrote.

The announcement follows direct talks between Israeli and Lebanese representatives in Washington on Tuesday — the first such face-to-face meeting in 34 years — hosted by Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Trump directed Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Rubio, and Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Dan Caine to work with both sides toward a lasting peace. He described the deal as his 10th war resolution, saying, “It has been my Honor to solve 9 Wars across the World, and this will be my 10th, so let’s, GET IT DONE!”

The temporary halt in hostilities aims to create breathing room amid ongoing tensions involving Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. For American families and allies seeking stability in the Middle East after years of conflict, the move reflects renewed U.S. diplomatic pressure to de-escalate flashpoints threatening regional security and global energy flows.
