Texas Stock Exchange Completes Full Trading Launch in Dallas
The Texas Stock Exchange has completed its full production trading launch in Dallas after a phased rollout, becoming the first major new national securities exchange built and headquartered in Texas in decades.

The Texas Stock Exchange has officially completed the rollout of full production trading, marking the arrival of the first major new national securities exchange built, headquartered, and incorporated in Texas in decades.
On July 31, 2026, TXSE leadership held a ceremonial bell-ringing at its temporary headquarters in Dallas’s Uptown neighborhood to commemorate the successful launch. The milestone completed a phased rollout that began earlier in July with test securities and limited live trading before expanding to all National Market System symbols. The exchange now operates with more than 50 member firms, the broadest day-one participation of any U.S. exchange launch in half a century, according to the company.
TXSE received approval from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on September 30, 2025. In roughly 18 months, the exchange developed a custom order-matching engine and delivered a fully integrated platform combining trading and listings capabilities—an achievement company officials described as unprecedented among recent entrants. Trading hours follow standard U.S. equity market sessions, with pre-market, regular, and post-market periods.
Chairman and CEO James H. Lee called the launch a watershed moment for Texas and American capital markets. “TXSE is now firmly a part of the global market structure,” Lee said. “Our state-of-the-art platform is pure infrastructure built to support what comes next—real competition for primary listings for the first time in decades.”
Governor Greg Abbott, a longtime supporter of the project, issued a statement celebrating the full-capacity launch. “On this historic day, Texas asserts its place as the financial capital of America,” Abbott said. “The Texas Stock Exchange now operates at full capacity and projects the economic strength of Texas across the nation and the world. This state-of-the-art platform affirms Texas’ leadership in free enterprise and capital markets.”
The exchange has attracted significant institutional backing, including investments from firms such as BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, Charles Schwab, and Citadel Securities. Total capital raised has been reported in excess of $120 million in earlier rounds, with additional commitments bringing the figure higher. Officials position TXSE as a competitor to the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq, with particular emphasis on serving companies tied to Texas and the broader southern economic region sometimes referred to as the “Boom Belt.”
Near-term plans include the introduction of auctions to support listings later in 2026, exchange-traded product listings expected in late third quarter, corporate transfers in the fourth quarter, and initial public offerings beginning in 2027. The exchange is currently operating from temporary facilities while a permanent home is developed in downtown Dallas, an area being promoted as “Y’all Street.”
TXSE’s launch represents the first fully integrated national securities exchange headquartered in Texas and is intended to expand competition in U.S. equity markets after decades of concentration among a small number of venues. Market participants and state officials will be watching the pace of listings growth and trading volume as the platform moves from infrastructure readiness into active competition for primary listings.
