Secret Service Arrests Armed Venezuelan Illegal Alien Near White House After He Says Voices Told Him to Kill Trump

U.S. Secret Service officers arrested an illegal alien from Venezuela near the White House on Thursday evening after he stated that voices in his head instructed him to kill President Donald Trump. The Department of Homeland Security identified the suspect as Ronny Yordrix Guanipa Chrinos.

Officers approached Chrinos after observing him acting suspiciously in a vehicle parked on Constitution Avenue. He told them the voices directed him to travel to Washington and kill the president. Officers determined the vehicle had been reported stolen. Chrinos admitted weapons were inside.

A search recovered an AR-15-style rifle, a MAC-10, a Glock 43X, and dozens of rounds of ammunition. Chrinos faces multiple charges including carrying a rifle outside a home or business, unlawful transportation of firearms, unregistered firearms and ammunition, possession of certain dangerous weapons, carrying a pistol without a license, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, theft, and receiving stolen property. ICE lodged a detainer; he is in U.S. Marshals Service custody.

DHS stated Chrinos entered the United States illegally through Texas in March 2024, was arrested by Border Patrol, and was later released under the prior administration. Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin credited Secret Service officers with preventing harm and noted the suspect “had no business being in our country in the first place.” Secret Service Director Sean Curran described the incident as reflecting the heightened threat environment around the White House complex.
