WASHINGTON — Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is hospitalized in critical but stable condition, his spokesman Ted Goodman confirmed on May 3, 2026.

Goodman stated: “Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently in the hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition.” No cause for the hospitalization or specific medical details have been publicly released. Giuliani, 81, hosted his online show “America’s Mayor Live” from Palm Beach, Florida, on Friday night prior to being admitted.

President Donald Trump addressed the news on Truth Social, calling Giuliani “a True Warrior, and the Best Mayor in the History of New York City, BY FAR,” and urging supporters to pray for his recovery.

Giuliani rose to national prominence as mayor of New York from 1994 to 2001, earning the nickname “America’s Mayor” for his leadership following the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. He later served as personal attorney to President Trump and played a prominent role in post-2020 election legal challenges. He has faced multiple legal battles in recent years, including indictments related to election interference cases, some of which have been resolved or are ongoing.

The hospitalization comes as Giuliani continues to be an active voice in conservative media and politics. As of the latest reports, his condition remains critical but stable, and no further medical updates have been released.

Prayers and well-wishes have poured in from across the political spectrum for the longtime public servant.
