RFK Jr. Criticizes Fauci’s ‘Vanity’ and ‘Giddiness’ Over Celebrity Status in Alex Marlow Interview

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. sharply criticized former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci during an appearance on The Alex Marlow Show, pointing to newly revealed private texts and describing a striking level of vanity and enjoyment of celebrity status amid the COVID-19 pandemic response.

In the interview with Breitbart Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow, Kennedy addressed revelations from Fauci’s private communications and contrasted them with public messaging. He stated that one of the most striking elements was “the level of vanity, the giddiness at his celebrity at how famous he was and how much he was enjoying that.” Kennedy framed the comments in the context of what he described as conflicting private knowledge and public statements by Fauci during the height of the pandemic.

The discussion extended to accountability for decisions surrounding COVID-19 vaccines. Kennedy argued that legal protections under the PREP Act, which shield vaccine manufacturers from liability, combined with a pardon issued during the Biden administration, have made meaningful accountability extraordinarily difficult. “If you can’t sue, if you can’t do discovery, it’s very easy for people to maintain this fiction that everything is fine,” he said. He contended that manufacturer disclosures presented a different picture from official public messaging on vaccine safety.

Kennedy specifically raised concerns about the administration of experimental COVID-19 vaccines to pregnant women, stating that “we should have never given experimental vaccines to pregnant women; the technology was brand new.” He linked these issues to broader questions of vaccine injuries and the challenges of obtaining transparency when liability shields limit discovery and litigation.

The appearance formed part of a wider conversation on the Trump administration’s efforts to overhaul aspects of the public health system. Kennedy discussed revisions to the childhood vaccine schedule, efforts to restore public trust through greater transparency and reduced mandates, and reforms targeting food safety regulations such as the GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) loophole for food ingredients. He also highlighted initiatives promoting nutrient-dense “real food” options.

Kennedy’s comments come amid ongoing political and legal scrutiny of pandemic-era decisions, including prior congressional hearings in which Fauci invoked the Fifth Amendment. As HHS secretary, Kennedy has positioned his department’s work around reevaluating vaccine policies, food ingredient oversight, and institutional accountability. The Marlow interview amplified his critique of Fauci’s personal conduct and the structural barriers he says have hindered fuller examination of COVID-19 response decisions.
