August 20, 2025 - President Trump's job approval rating has risen to 54% in the wake of his groundbreaking summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, marking a four-point increase from last month's 50%, based on a fresh InsiderAdvantage survey of 1,000 likely voters taken from August 15 to 17.
The poll shows disapproval at 43.6%, giving President Trump a solid net positive of over 10 points. This boost reflects strong support from key voter groups, particularly independents and those under 65, as efforts to broker peace in Ukraine gain traction.
Among independents, approval reached 50.4%, while younger voters drove much of the momentum: 57.3% in the 18-39 age bracket and 56.5% for those 40 to 64 expressed support. Approval among voters 65 and older lagged at 40.1%, consistent with prior trends.
Pollster Matt Towery highlighted broader gains, including improved standing with African-American and Hispanic-Latino communities, alongside a near-record 64% approval from white voters. "President Trump now holds an edge in every age category except the oldest voters," Towery observed in his breakdown. "These figures show a clear upward trajectory following the summit."
The Alaska talks, focused on ending the Ukraine conflict, appear to have resonated widely, especially as President Trump pushes forward with diplomatic initiatives. Towery added that the results align with ongoing patterns, where only senior demographics show net disapproval.
