IRGC-Linked Terrorist Plotted to Assassinate Ivanka Trump in Revenge for Soleimani Killing

WASHINGTON — U.S. authorities disrupted an assassination plot targeting Ivanka Trump orchestrated by a senior IRGC-linked Iraqi terrorist seeking revenge for the 2020 U.S. drone strike that killed his mentor, Qasem Soleimani.

Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood Al-Saadi, 32, an Iraqi national with deep ties to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and Kata’ib Hezbollah, made a explicit “pledge” to kill Ivanka Trump and obtained detailed plans of her $24 million Florida home, according to sources familiar with the investigation.

Al-Saadi, who viewed Soleimani as a father figure after losing his own father, an Iranian general, reportedly told associates: “We need to kill Ivanka to burn down the house of Trump the way he burned down our house.” He also posted a map of the Trump-Kushner Florida enclave on social media with a chilling Arabic-language threat stating that neither “palaces nor the Secret Service” would protect them, and that revenge was “a matter of time.”

Al-Saadi was arrested in Turkey on May 15 and extradited to the United States. He faces charges related to 18 terrorist attacks and attempted attacks across Europe and the U.S., including firebombings, stabbings, and shootings targeting Jewish and American interests. These include the March firebombing of the Bank of New York Mellon in Amsterdam, a stabbing of two Jewish victims in London, and a shooting at the U.S. consulate in Toronto.

The plot against Ivanka Trump, 44, who converted to Orthodox Judaism in 2009 before marrying Jared Kushner, is believed to be part of a broader wave of Iranian-backed retaliation following U.S. actions against the IRGC and Soleimani. Al-Saadi maintained close connections with Soleimani’s successor, Brigadier General Esmail Qaani, and used a religious travel agency as cover for coordinating terror activities.

The Secret Service has significantly increased protection for Ivanka Trump and the entire Trump family in response to the credible threat. The White House has not issued a public comment on the specific plot.

This incident underscores the ongoing danger posed by the IRGC and its proxies, who continue to pursue high-profile targets in retaliation for U.S. policy in the Middle East. The case remains under active investigation by the FBI and other agencies.
