U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, working with state and local partners, arrested more than 230 illegal foreign nationals across 15 states in a three-day operation targeting commercial driver’s license violations and other public-safety threats in the trucking industry, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin announced.

Operation Guardian ran from October 26 to October 28. Mullin detailed the results at a news conference at Melton Truck Lines in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Of those arrested, more than 40 held commercial driver’s licenses. States involved included Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Texas.

“In just three days, we arrested more than 230 illegal aliens, including over 40 illegal aliens with commercial driver’s licenses, across 15 states,” Mullin said. “Operation Guardian proves how federal and local law enforcement can work together to get threats like these off of our roadways and protect the homeland.”

From January 20, 2025, to October 28, 2026, ICE has made 4,795 CDL-related arrests nationwide, including 1,233 involving CDL holders, according to the department. The operation follows earlier actions such as Operation Guardrail. Mullin has previously criticized sanctuary jurisdictions for issuing commercial licenses to illegal aliens who, in some cases, have criminal histories or limited English proficiency.
