Federal Investigators Question Ilhan Omar’s Sister After DC Home Raid

Sahra Noor, the older sister of Rep. Ilhan Omar, voluntarily spoke with federal investigators last week as part of the ongoing immigration-fraud probe that included an October 12 search of Omar’s Washington residence.

Federal investigators questioned Sahra Noor, older sister of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), last week in connection with the immigration-fraud investigation that led to a predawn Homeland Security Investigations raid on the congresswoman’s Washington, D.C., home on October 12. Three sources familiar with the probe said Noor spoke voluntarily with investigators after the search.

The new development follows earlier reporting that the Justice Department had issued subpoenas to relatives of Omar and that agents seized Omar’s phone, passport, and computer during the court-authorized search. Border czar Tom Homan said over the weekend that investigators have a “strong case” and that denaturalization and deportation remain possible if fraud in the citizenship process is proven. The probe centers on whether Omar or her late father provided false information on immigration paperwork, including details related to her birth date and family relationships.

Omar has not been charged. She has described the investigation as political targeting and an escalation of prior criticism by President Trump. A bookstore event involving Noor was canceled last week due to what organizers called a “family emergency,” now linked to the federal questioning.

The case remains active. Multiple outlets, including Fox News Digital, the New York Post, and USA Today, confirmed the sister’s voluntary interview based on sources familiar with the matter. Any charging decision would require grand-jury action; officials have not announced further steps.
