Washington, D.C. – Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz delivered a straightforward assessment when asked for medical advice on treating Americans suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) during a White House press briefing on June 2, 2026.
While filling in for Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, Oz responded to a question from Lindell TV correspondent Cara Castronuova: “Do you have any medical advice for the Americans out there that are suffering from a very serious ailment called Trump derangement syndrome?”
Oz replied: “I am concerned about folks who have focused their entire life energy on dislike of the president. It’s disheartening to see people lost in that way but you know, it's treating stupid is really hard and it becomes a real problem and these folks are off.”
The remark drew strong reactions from both supporters and critics of the administration. Oz has previously joked about the lack of a cure for TDS on social media in response to attacks on Trump administration health initiatives.
