WASHINGTON – In a video posted on X Thursday, Hunter Biden challenged Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump to a “cage match” in what many observers are describing as a desperate attempt to remain relevant amid mounting personal and financial problems. The challenge came just days after Hunter’s ongoing legal and financial troubles continued to make headlines, including reports that he owes more than $17 million in unpaid taxes, legal fees, and other debts. “Hey guys, Hunter Biden here. I just got a call from Andrew Callaghan. He asked me to come out on the Channel 5 Carnival Tour at the end of the month,” Hunter said. “I think we start in Phoenix and then we go to San Diego and we end in Albuquerque. And I think he’s trying to organize a cage match, me versus Eric and Don Jr. I told him I’d do it. 100 percent in, if he can pull it off, and if he can’t, I’m still coming, and I think he’s got a lot of surprises up his sleeve, I hope I see you guys out there,”

Hunter Biden has faced multiple federal convictions and investigations in recent years. He was convicted on federal gun charges in 2024 and later pleaded guilty to tax offenses. Court records and IRS whistleblower testimony have detailed millions in unreported income, lavish spending, and questionable foreign business dealings. As of early 2026, liens and debt collection efforts have left him in a precarious financial position.

The cage match proposal follows a pattern of provocative public statements and media appearances by Biden as he attempts to rebuild his public profile after leaving the White House. Critics have described the challenge as an attention-seeking stunt from a man struggling with relevance and financial stability.

Neither Donald Trump Jr. nor Eric Trump has publicly responded to the challenge as of April 9. The Trump family has previously dismissed Hunter Biden’s public statements as attempts to distract from his legal issues.

The episode comes as Hunter Biden continues to face significant personal and legal challenges, including ongoing civil cases and reported difficulties selling his artwork and securing new income sources. Many political observers view the cage match provocation as the latest example of a former first family member using controversy to stay in the spotlight while dealing with deep financial distress.
