Breaking: HSI Agents Execute Search Warrant at Rep. Ilhan Omar’s DC Home in Ongoing Criminal Investigation

Homeland Security Investigations agents executed a judicially authorized search warrant early Monday morning at the Washington, D.C., residence of Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar of Minnesota.

A Justice Department spokesperson confirmed the action: “Today in the Washington, D.C., area, Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice. This enforcement action is part of an ongoing federal investigation.” Multiple agents wearing HSI jackets were visible outside the home in video obtained by Fox News Digital.

Two sources familiar with the investigation told Fox News that the search is connected to a criminal fraud inquiry into immigration paperwork that Omar’s late father completed when she was a child. Omar arrived in the United States in 1995 as a refugee from Somalia and became a U.S. citizen in 2000. The Associated Press, citing people familiar with the matter, separately reported that HSI agents searched the home as part of a criminal investigation, though it said details of the probe were unclear.

The raid follows statements last month by White House border czar Tom Homan, who confirmed that Omar was the subject of an ongoing criminal investigation. Homan said at the time that if someone committed an immigration violation or marriage fraud, “no one’s above the law,” and deferred further comment to HSI. Omar has previously denied allegations of immigration fraud and has said she had not been contacted by investigators.

Omar’s office had not issued a public statement as of Monday morning. Neither the Department of Homeland Security nor the White House provided additional details beyond the Justice Department’s confirmation of the warrant.
