Former President Joe Biden has begun radiation and hormone therapy as treatment for his aggressive prostate cancer, diagnosed in May 2025, four months after leaving office.
Biden's office announced the Gleason score of 9, indicating a highly aggressive form that had metastasized to his bones but not penetrated organs. At the time, Biden stated: "The expectation is we’re going to be able to beat this. It’s not in any organ, it’s in — my bones are strong, it hadn’t penetrated. So, I’m feeling good." He initiated a pill regimen then.
Aide Kelly Scully confirmed Saturday: "As part of a treatment plan for prostate cancer, President Biden is currently undergoing radiation therapy and hormone treatment." The therapy targets the hormone-sensitive cancer, standard for stage IV cases.
